Sustainable weight loss

Solving for what happens after weight loss

We are building next-generation treatments designed to sustain results, helping patients maintain progress over time through better biology and a more practical approach to real-world use.

Alveus Therapeutics is focused on what comes next in metabolic medicine

Current therapies have shown that weight loss is achievable. The question we're focused on is what comes next: now that you've lost the weight, how do you stay healthy and stable for years to come? Is the biology of the maintenance phase fundamentally different from the biology of weight loss itself? And if so, doesn't it deserve a fundamentally different approach?

Our science

The science exists.
We address the gaps.

We follow the genome

Visionary team of seasoned executives have built an integrated platform to achieve durable, high-quality weight management. Every mechanism we pursue is anchored in validated biology.

Meeting the future needs

Creating a comprehensive, stage-spanning patient support by focusing on quality of weight loss, improved tolerability, and patient-friendly dosing regimens. With positive patient experience and superior adherence, we are on a strong path to win future market dynamics.

Differentiated pipeline

Our ongoing and planned studies testing ALV-100, a GIPR mAb/GLP-1RA fusion protein, dosed every three or six months in maintenance, could represent a significant improvement compared to currently available options. Our highly differentiated preclinical Amylin portfolio will offer distinguished all-rounder patient support.

Our treatments are designed to address both weight loss and long-term weight maintenance.

Development pipeline

A differentiated therapeutic portfolio built for every patient journey

Alveus's pipeline is focused on next-generation metabolic therapies; the lead asset ALV-100 is currently in Phase 2. The company's preclinical amylin pipeline consists of novel peptides, oral small molecules, and other novel formats targeting improved quality of weight loss.

Every program starts with a molecule - and is carried forward by a team, a strategy, and an unrelenting commitment to patients.

What separates Alveus from the rest

DNA double helix

We follow the genome

Every mechanism we pursue has human loss-of-function validation. GIPR variants that silence the receptor protect against obesity, heart disease, and metabolic complications, independent of GLP-1. The science told us where to look. We listened.

Patient portrait

A shot every three months

ALV-100 is designed for quarterly maintenance dosing, the longest interval of any asset in clinical development. That is not an incremental improvement. That is a fundamentally different life for patients.

Antibody structure

Built to keep the weight off

GIPR antagonism suppresses the counterregulatory responses that drive weight regain after therapy ends. In our Phase 1 data, patients held their weight below baseline through 150 days of follow-up, long after GLP-1 levels had declined.

Laboratory sample handling

Three mechanisms. One company

ALV-100 plus two proprietary amylin programs, a selective injectable peptide and an oral small molecule, give partners three distinct mechanisms and multiple shots on goal in the largest therapeutic market of the decade.
